16 Weeks (and a peek at our gender ultrasound!)

This week has been the best, by far. Every day I’m feeling more and more like myself (even though I randomly threw up last night, but we’re going to pretend that didn’t happen.)  The past seven days have been full of exciting milestones, and I swear both baby and I are growing noticeably bigger by the day!

How far along? 16 Weeks
Baby is the size of: An avocado (yum!)
Total weight gain: I’m down 2.5 lbs… almost back to my original weight
Gender: It’s a girl!
Name: The choices have been cut in half, now that we know the gender.  But we’re still stumped!  I keep asking baby what her name is, but so far she’s been no help at all :)
Maternity Clothes: I bought my first maternity top this week.  The shirt in the photo isn’t maternity, but it’s stretchy and longer than normal.  Now that I’m really growing, I need all of my tops to be loooong.  But I’m having trouble finding anything cute… grrr.
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: I’m less tired than I was last week, which has been great!  But I find that if I overdo it during the day, I’m definitely asleep by 9:30.
Movement: I’m feeling her way more now, and she’s even given me a few good kicks!!  I felt the movement from the outside for the first time yesterday and when Travis got home from work he got to feel her too :)
Best moment this week: Seeing her on the ultrasound and finding out the gender was amazing!  And feeling her kick/watching Travis feel that for the first time made my heart swell!
Miss Anything: I’ve been so happy to be feeling more “normal” this week, I can’t think of anything I miss!
Belly button in or out? In
Food cravings: I still have a hankering for fruit and just about anything sweet.  I’ve had my heart set on some gooey brownies the past few days, so I have a feeling I’ll be whipping up a batch this weekend :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: I usually just feel queasy when I’m really tired or have over-done it during the day
Labor Signs: not real labor, but the Braxton-Hicks happen every so often
Symptoms: This week has been significantly better, symptom-wise.  I’ve been extra hungry and thirsty and I don’t have the same level of energy as I did pre-pregnancy, but overall it’s all very manageable.
Wedding ring on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Suuuuuper happy this week!
Looking forward to: Valentine’s Day and visiting my nieces and nephews in Salt Lake City in a few weeks.

If you want to check out a few snippets of our ultrasound last weekend, Travis made this cute 1 minute video with some of our favorite clips… Confession: I watch it allll the time, hehe.

Kim, while I don’t think you will need maternity tops, if you are headed to Salt Lake City they are kind of the maternity shopping top of the world. While you are there I would recommend checking out shade clothing and down east basics (both are online, but you won’t have to pay shipping if your in UT). They have lots of stretchy & long tops if you don’t want to buy the maternity options, but they also have that if you want it too. Gap & Old Navy are good for long & stretchy too. :) Good luck! You are way to cute prego, by the way!
