What Hairstyle Are You Coveting Most?

Hey everyone!  I am super happy this morning because today marks a whole new phase in my career life: I am officially (finally!) starting cosmetology school!  The whole thing is so foreign and exciting— I can’t wait to share the experience with you.  And I’m hoping to learn some super awesome beauty tips along the way!

Since I’ve got beauty— namely hair— on the brain, I thought it’d be fun to chat about hairstyles.  As a budding stylist, I’d love to know what look you all are into!

My hair is currently l-o-n-g.  I’ve been growing it out for a while, knowing that 1) I’d be messing with it a bunch during cosmetology school and 2) I wanted to have a lot of options for the wedding (even though I wasn’t technically engaged until 2 months ago!)  But, to be honest, I am OVER having so much hair!  So what’s my plan of attack?

As soon as we get back from our honeymoon, I’m chopping it all off!  I had a pixie cut 9 years ago when I was an awkward, gawky teen.  I had no idea how to style it, and it was definitely not my proudest moment.  But I’m hoping that will change, now that I’ve got a little more experience under my belt.

And, man, it will feel good to get rid of all that hair!

Have you ever had a dramatic hair transformation?  Thinking about switching up your cut or color?  Coveting any celebrity hairstyles lately?  Tell me about it in the comments!

Kim, I cut off my hair every two years (and donate it) and then start the long trek to growing it out. It is my way to force myself to 1) change it up every once in a while (I don’t want to have the same hair style the rest of my life) and 2) to put some thought into my appearance ( I am terribly lazy/chill with my look), and 3) to work on my discipline. It has worked out great so far and I have been doing it for 6 years now. I am in the pixie cut side of things right now and loving it! Good luck in school!

I am leaving for a trip to India in just under a month and have been considering chopping off all my hair in anticipation of extreme heat but haven’t done it yet. I won’t be styling it at all while I’m there, so it would have to be a cut that looks relatively cute just washed (or more often than not, unwashed) and air-dried. I have pretty thin, fine hair, so it doesn’t have a lot of volume or body on it’s own. Right now it’s about shoulder length with a few layers…

    Any suggestions?

Boy have I had a variety of do’s…from hair to the butt in high school…to shoulder length dreadlocks…to a terribly awkward short cut (that’s what you get when you let your roommates do it!)…bad bangs…I’ve had it all! Thinking about going short again…it looks more teacherly :)
