If you’ve purchased nail polish recently, you have probably noticed that many brands are changing the brushes they use.  Since the beginning of time, nail polish has come with a tiny, round built-in brush (the shape of which, I have never truly been able to master).  In case you’re forgetting, this is what I’m talking about:

But these new brushes are completely different:

The wider, flatter shape has been adopted by many popular brands, and I have to say… I am a big fan.

At first, it was a little bit hard to get used to, but now I am totally hooked!  The width of the brush means more coverage and ultimately speeds up the painting process.  And since the brush is no longer round, I seem to have better control along the edges.

I switched back to the old style when I came across an older nail polish color that I loved, but I got super frustrated when I had to re-adjust to it.  Back to the new stuff it is…

I’d love to know whether you’ve tried this new polish brush and what you think about it?  Have your at-home mani/pedi’s gotten any easier?  Or are you struggling with the new size and shape?  Any awesome nail colors I need to know about… I’m in the mood for some new polish now that the sun is really shining in the Bay Area!
