Wedding Wednesday POLL: How Much Should The Bridal Party Match?

If I’ve learned one thing in the past year of wedding planning, it’s that there’s no “right” way to have a wedding.  I went to a friend’s wedding on Saturday that was so different than mine will be, yet still so beautiful.  One thing that I noticed: everyone matched!

{via}

Her bridesmaids wore their hair the same way and had matching shoes, the groomsmen rented the exact same tuxes and ties… it was very traditional and beautiful.  But I’ve seen more and more weddings where the bridesmaids chooses their own dresses (sometimes even in random colors!) or the groomsmen wear the same color, but different suits.

Our wedding will fall somewhere in between the two.  My girls will be wearing the same dress with un-matching accessories and hairstyles and the guys are wearing completely different suits with matching accessories.

There are so many ways to do things, but I’d love to know what you like best!

.

Married gals: tell me what your bridal party wore!  How much did it all match?  Unmarried ladies… have you thought much about it?  What would you do?  Share in the comments!

    I had my bridesmaids wear the same dress (which they chose) and similar cardigans (I got married in March, we thought it would be cold). They didn’t have matching shoes, hair, jewelry or any of that. And he grooms men (who ended up kind of being missing in action… long story) all had matching ties, but that was it. The thing that I was really surprised about on the actual day was how many of the guests and my relatives matched. If I had to do it over again, I think I would have liked a more diverse crowd of colors. But it is what it is and it was beautiful!

    I actually wanted mismatched bridesmaids, but they rebelled! The stress of picking their own dresses actually stressed them out, so I ended up picking out the dresses. The groomsmen did not match whatsoever. Though the girls all had different shoes, they ended up following the groomsmen’s lead and walked down the aisle barefoot, afraid they would stumble in their heels on the grass!

    I think the bridesmaids should have the same color dress from the same designer/material…but they can have a different cut because let’s face it..every woman’s body is different. As far as the shoes, again…same color but differet heel/design. I would like all of the bridesmaids to have the same nails and acessories, and pretty similiar hair style too!!

    Like Michelle, I like it when each girl wears the same color dress from the same line but in a different style to match their shape. I would just ask my bridesmaids that no one wore the same style so they would have to duke it out if two wanted to wear the same style. : P
    I also thought it might be cute to have everyone wear the same dress but in a different color that went well with the wedding colors.
    I think bridesmaids can choose their hairstyles but wouldn’t want all but one bridesmaid to wear their hair down or vice versa.
