Wedding Wednesday POLL: Honeymoon Camping?

Travis and I both grew up camping and love heading to the lake every summer.  (We even registered for camping gear for our wedding and it was one of our favorite gifts!)  We have a big camping trip planned for July and I’ve been fantasizing about it a lot lately.  Laying by the water with a good book and an ice cold drink, playing guitar at night by the bonfire— I’m always so relaxed during our camping adventures.

My parents started and ended their honeymoon in fancy hotels, but they spent a few days mid-trip at a campground.  I used to think that camping was not a honeymoon appropriate trip, but I’m starting to think it could be awesome.  Before you judge, check out some of these pretty camping photos:

Camping would certainly minimize honeymoon costs and you could really unplug from the outside world.  What do you think?  Would you do it?

    My parents camped on their honeymoon…but it has always seemed odd to me- and I love camping.I just always have imagined something a little more luxurious for a honeymoon perhaps?

    Seems like what your parents did was awesome though. The best of both worlds.

    camping for my honeymoon sounds amazing & the pix above make it look invigorating! however, not sommyething id want as a way to celebrate my marriage. if im gonna spend the rest of my life with someone, id want our first vacation as a married couple to be calm & relaxing as well as exciting & adventurous like camping but far away, somewhere neither of ua has been, in a luxurious 5 star suite:)

    now, thanks to this post, im looking forward to a luxurious anniversary vacation!

    While those pictures definately look enjoyable I would NOT want to celebrate my honeymoon that way. I def want to be either in a nice bed & breakfast in Europe with my new husband or relaxing on a tropical island somewhere far away from the US! :)

    I love this idea. Jeremy and I have been considering it. I like how your parents did it have a little fancy with the comfortable. We are doing everything on a budget, so, this is a great way to affordibly extend out honeymoon and is totally our style.
