Wedding Wednesday: Love Letters For Later
Let me start by saying: I love love letters. I’m a writer— I love to write down my thoughts and feelings, and I love being able to read and re-read sweet sentiments long after they’ve been given to me. Travis and I have exchanged many love notes and cards over the past 3 1/2 years, and I’ve saved just about every one of them. (Yes, I still get teary every time I stumble upon one.)
Which is why I love this wedding idea…
Imagine sitting down by yourself on the morning of your wedding with all the anticipation of the big day and all the love you feel for your partner and then putting that down on paper. But instead of exchanging letters on your wedding day, you save them for a future date (your 1, 5, 10 year anniversary, etc…)
I can just picture reading those words years after the wedding and reliving every moment of it… sigh.
Can you tell I’m feeling a little mushy this week?
What do you think of writing a love letter to be opened at a later date? Would you (or did you) do this for your wedding?
