  I think they are in a sealed container because it keeps the chemical in the product, as I have noticed they are really nice and plyable to adhere them and they almost sort of seal themselves and get a LOT harder over a days time. If I do something right after (since I am also notoriously hard on my nails) they won’t chip, but they will dent and warp sometimes, but they seem to harden over a short period of time (a day or so) so as long as when you purchase them you don’t take them out of their airtight container until you are ready to use them they should have a decent shelf life.
