The Beauty Of Balayage

Have you ladies heard of balayage highlights?  It’s a cool hair coloring technique that’s been around for ages, but has recently picked up a lot of steam in the U.S.

Here’s how it works: each highlight is painted on individually, rather than being woven in with foils.  They’re not placed directly on the scalp; instead they start a little lower and vary in width.  The result is a more natural, sun-kissed look that can go longer between salon visits (since it already has a bit of a grown-out effect).

Here are some examples of balayage highlights:

I’m swooning over this look, and I think I’ll highlight my hair this way before the wedding!  But I know not everyone loves the effect as much as I do…

What do you think of balayage highlights?  Do you like the look, or are you not a fan?  Have you ever tried them yourself?  Tell me what you think in the comments!
