POLL: Would You Get A Beauty Counter Makeover Without Buying Products?

Most of us probably like to peruse the beauty counters at our local department stores from time to time— either to get product information or replenish an empty eyeshadow— but I’m curious how many of you have visited the beauty department for this…

{via}

I’ve heard of it being done; a woman wants killer makeup for a big event, but doesn’t want to throw down the cash for a bunch of new products or a professional makeup artist.  So she heads down to Macy’s and “tests” a bunch of beauty products by getting a makeover by one of the girls at the beauty counter.

Etiquette requires the purchase of one (or more) of these products as payment for the salesperson’s time.  But I’m guessing that’s not always how it works…

.

Have you ever fibbed at the beauty counter in order to get the free makeover?  If so, did you feel bad, or is it really not that big a deal?  If you think it’s necessary to purchase products after a makeup service, how many should you buy?  Tell me what you think in the comments!

P.S.- Don’t forget to enter this week’s awesome giveaway!

    I don’t think it’s right for a saleswoman to spend all of her time giving you a make-over and then you don’t end up purchasing anything. She’s investing in her time.

    I have done this when I have a big event like a wedding to attend but I always buy at least one product! How can you not when they spend the time and make you look good! But if they pick a lip color I know I will not wear…then I will buy one more in my color family of gloss or a nude :)
