Celebs Use Makeup to Enhance Their Cleavage. Do You?

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering how the stick-thin ladies of Hollywood always seem to look so perfect in their designer gowns.  Nothing is out of place, you can’t see the bobby pins in their hair, and their cleavage is somehow perfect (even without a bra).

Exhibit A:

I stumbled onto an article yesterday that finally explains why even tiny-chested celebrities seem to have perfectly plump breasts on the red carpet.  One makeup artist claimed that a combination of bronzer and highlighter are used to give the illusion of fullness.  The bronzer is applied in the creases that would occur if you were wearing a push-up bra, and the highlighter is applied on the roundest part of the breast.  Obviously, I had to try this myself.

I was advised to actually put on a push-up bra as I applied the makeup, so the contours would be accurate.  As I applied the bronzer, I could really see a difference!  The highlighting effect was less noticeable, but definitely added to the effect.  I felt just like a real celebrity and then… I took the bra off.  I put on a low-cut dress to test how it looked, and there was very little difference.

Perhaps I’m doing it wrong?  Or maybe this makeup artist also neglected to tell us that there are other forces at work (boob tape, anyone?)

Either way, it was a fun experiment for a small-chested lady like myself.  And it definitely made a difference, as long as the bra was on!

Have you ever used makeup to enhance your cleavage?  What about other spots on your body?  Do you think makeup artists are the sole reason why Hollywood’s tiny boobs seem bigger, or do they use other tricks?  Tell me about it in the comments!
