Wedding Wednesday POLL: What Do You Think Of Non-Diamond Engagement Rings?

Ever since Prince William & Kate Middleton got engaged, I’ve seen a burst in non-traditional engagement rings, and I want to know what you think!

Here are a bunch of  engagement rings that feature stones other than diamonds:

Granted, some of these rings have diamonds in them, but having an alternate stone as the main feature really changes things up!  I think these rings are beautiful, but I’m happy having a plain diamond.  My birthstone is sapphire, so I’ve had lots of sapphire rings and necklaces over the years, which makes my diamond feel a little more special.

But I like that women are being a little more original with their ring choices!  My favorite is the last ring, which is aquamarine.

What do you think of them?

.

Which of these rings do you like best?  Would you (or do you) wear a non-diamond engagement ring?  Which type of stone would you choose?  Tell me what you think in the comments!

POLL: Would You Get A Beauty Counter Makeover Without Buying Products?

Most of us probably like to peruse the beauty counters at our local department stores from time to time— either to get product information or replenish an empty eyeshadow— but I’m curious how many of you have visited the beauty department for this…

{via}

I’ve heard of it being done; a woman wants killer makeup for a big event, but doesn’t want to throw down the cash for a bunch of new products or a professional makeup artist.  So she heads down to Macy’s and “tests” a bunch of beauty products by getting a makeover by one of the girls at the beauty counter.

Etiquette requires the purchase of one (or more) of these products as payment for the salesperson’s time.  But I’m guessing that’s not always how it works…

.

Have you ever fibbed at the beauty counter in order to get the free makeover?  If so, did you feel bad, or is it really not that big a deal?  If you think it’s necessary to purchase products after a makeup service, how many should you buy?  Tell me what you think in the comments!

P.S.- Don’t forget to enter this week’s awesome giveaway!

Hot or Not: White Jeans

White denim is making quite the comeback these days, and I’d love to know what you think…

{via}

Last year, my mom tried to convince me to buy a pair of white jeans and I remember saying something along the lines of “I wouldn’t be caught dead in white jeans.”  I think my distaste for them came from memories of a pair I owned in 9th grade.  They were these tight white denim pedal pushers… not cute.

But you know what they say… mom knows best.  More than a year after my mother suggested it, I am totally dying for a pair of white skinnies.

Are you hopping on the bandwagon, too?

.

If you’re a fan, pick up a cute pair here or here!

Are you digging the white denim trend, or are you feeling like this is a look that shouldn’t have been brought back into style?  Do any of you own a pair of white jeans?  What would/do you wear with them?  Tell me all about it in the comments!

Wedding Wednesday POLL: Glasses On Your Wedding Day?

I was looking at the portfolio of our wedding photographer, Nicolette Clark, and getting really excited about our big day!  And during my browsing, I noticed something that really stood out to me…

This bride is wearing glasses!

When I think about it, very few brides that I’ve seen (in person and online) wear glasses on their big day.  In fact, the only one I could remember is from this wedding:

I’m not planning on wearing my glasses when Travis and I get married.  I do wear them pretty much every day, but I’ve only had glasses since October, and I don’t think people see me as a “glasses wearer”.  I think both of these brides are adorable, though, and I’m wondering if you fellow glasses-wearers would sport your specs on your wedding day.

.

.

Would you wear glasses on your wedding day if you also wore them in real life?  Would you wear them for a few photos, or for the whole night?  Do you like the look of brides in glasses, or do you think it’s a little strange?  Tell me what you think in the comments!
