You ladies were big fans of the stackable rings we discussed a couple of weeks ago, so I’m curious to see what you think of this next trend in jewelry…
Have you heard of floating rings? They basically look like gems or stones that float between your fingers— no one can actually see the band. Here are a few examples:
I showed you all my engagement ring right after Travis proposed, but now I’m stumped when it comes to my wedding band. Here’s why…
My engagement ring did not come as part of a set, and because of it’s super-low setting (the diamond sits right on my finger), we realized right away that my wedding band would need to be customized.
After trying on a number of wedding rings, I settled on a simple white-gold piece that would be easy to alter. We’re going to notch it out so that it sits flush against my engagement ring, and we’ll also round off the edges a little bit so that it mimics the band on my engagement ring. So what’s the problem, you ask?
I’m not sure how wide the band should be! As it is, the wedding band is 2mm wide and my engagement ring is just over 1.5mm wide. Take a look:
At first, I was sure that I wanted them to be the exact same width, but the more I look at it, the more I’m wavering in my decision…
Basically, I am totally stumped! I’d love your opinion on this— so what do you think?
.
Should I leave the wedding band a little thicker or do you think it should match my engagement ring exactly? Have you ever had to customize a piece of jewelry? Will you (or did you) get your engagement ring and wedding ring as a set? Help me out by discussing it in the comments!
It’s the New Year! Which means that despite the chilly weather, it’s time to add a little oomph to our wardrobes.
I’ve got a couple of plain old flats laying around the house that I don’t wear because they’ve lost their “brand-new-super-cute” appeal. The solution? Shoe clips!
And don’t forget: shoe clips can be worn on the back of your flats or heels as well. The great thing about them is that you can switch it up as much as you’d like!
Not into spending a lot of dough? Buy a couple of artificial flowers (or tie a bow with some cute ribbon) and hot glue it to a hair clip for the same effect!
What do you think of these cute shoe clips? Do you have a pair of old flats that could use a little sprucing up? Would you rather purchase a pair, or are you into making them yourself? Tell me what you think in the comments!
