Cool Nail Design & A Question For My Sweet Readers…

A friend of mine said that she’d like to see more nail posts on the blog, and I’m happily obliging today with a new design that I tried over the weekend!  Check it out:

I’ve been wanting to try plaid nails, and it was really pretty easy.  To do it yourself, just use nail art brushes to draw diagonal lines in alternating directions on your nails!  There are so many color combos to try… endless fun!

And now for a little help from you…

I try really hard to balance the posts on the blog, so it doesn’t feel like I’m featuring too much of one thing, but I want to make sure I’m balancing the content that you love most. My friend asked for more nail posts, and that’s exactly what I did.  If you like to read about design, relationships, hair tutorials, food… let me know! I’d love to hear what YOU want to see more of on {blending beautiful}!

Please leave a comment or shoot an email to and tell me what you love to read!  And, as always, don’t hesitate to ask for specific posts.  (Need advice?  Want to emulate a specific celeb look for less?  Let me know!)

And, hey… what do you think of my plaid nails?!

Hot or Not: Fall Capes

Capes are everywhere this fall, and I want to know what you think!

Personally, I’m a fan.  But I don’t really know if it’s a look I could pull off.  I get a serious East Coast vibe from this look… we San Franciscans are pretty laid back in our style choices.

If you’re in the market for a cape, here are some cute options:

Okay, you’ve seen the rundown.  What’s the verdict?

Do you think capes are hot or not?  Do you own one?  Do you feel like it “fits in” with the vibe of your city?  Share your thoughts in the comments!

I Need Your Help… How Should I Wear My Hair?

I’m going to a gala this month, and I need you to help me decide how to wear my hair!

I’m wearing a dress with the same silhouette as this one (though mine is not in a bright print):

Since it’s strapless, I feel like I could really wear my hair up or down, which is making me feel a little overwhelmed!  I’ve narrowed it down to three potential styles, and now I need your help to decide.  Here are the options:

Style 1: Long and breezy, a go-to style that I love.

Style 2: Sexy side bun… paired with some killer earrings, of course!

Style 3: Half-Up; simple and elegant.

What do you think?

Which of these styles do you like best?  Got any other good suggestions?  Share your thoughts in the comments!
