POLL: How Often Do You Wear Nail Polish?

I introduced you all to my new favorite nail polish a couple weeks ago, and I think by now you all know what a fan I am of painted nails.

I have pretty weak nails, so if I don’t wear polish, they tend to break off.  Plus, I love how nail polish can add a fun punch of color to an otherwise mellow outfit.

The only problem is that I’m super weird about chipped polish.  The moment my nail polish starts to crack or chip, I pick away at it and eventually have to take it off.  Needless to say, I feel like I’m painting my nails every few days!  Even so, it’s worth the clean look and I end up having polish on my nails most of the time.

The same goes for my toes, but I change my toenail polish way less often, since it doesn’t chip as quick as my fingers…

Do you wear polish as much as I do?

How often do you wear polish on your hands?  What about your toes?  Do you leave the same color on for a while, or do you switch it up often?  Tell me in the comments!

And on a completely unrelated note… Anthropologie released a new wedding gown yesterday.  *swoooon*

The Beauty Department

I stumbled onto an awesome new blog a few weeks ago, and I keep meaning to share it with you all!

I mentioned The Beauty Department to you all last week during my post about Ombre Hair Color, but I think it deserves a post all to itself.  It was started by Lauren Conrad and a couple of her smarty-beauty-pants friends, and in it’s full of awesome tutorials, pretty photos, and cool beauty tricks that can be mastered by just about anyone.

Here are a few highlights:

I’ve been styling my hair in “the every day wave” for weeks, and I love how effortless and put-together it is!

I love these cute photos of Lauren Conrad on the set of her Kohl’s photo shoot.

I can’t wait to try this easy updo, showed above.  (It would be great for a wedding!)

And I totally enjoyed this rundown on differently shaped makeup brushes!

Have you heard of The Beauty Department?  What do you think?  Have you come across any good beauty sites lately?  Tell me about it in the comments!

Wedding Wednesday: Crunch Time

I can’t believe it, but the wedding is just three months away!  And I’m suddenly feeling super stressed!

The big things are in place, but it’s amazing how much time and energy it takes to round up and execute every little detail.  When did I decide that a DIY wedding was the way to go?  And why didn’t you all tell me how INSANE I am for doing it that way?!

I kid… mostly.  For now, I’m fantasizing about my honeymoon nonstop in an effort to relax.  We’re headed to Maui a couple days after the wedding, and these pictures are making me want to get over there, pronto!

Doesn’t it look so relaxing…?

Married gals: Got any tips for dealing with pre-wedding stress?!  Unmarried gals: Ever been to Maui?  What should we see/do/eat while we’re there??

Do You Have A “Go-To” Outfit?

Another late post today, thanks to my little getaway, but we should be back on track tomorrow morning!

I’ve been noticing lately that there seems to be a California-girl “uniform”, and I’m wondering whether you have one too…

Something clicked for my when I was down South— girls in California (myself included) wear a different version of the same outfit just about every day!

Here are the elements needed to create the look:

1. Messy ballerina bun

2. Ray Ban Wayfarers (can also be replaced with aviators)

3. Loose-fitting top or sweater

4. Skinny jeans/leggings

5. TOMS or some other flats

I definitely rock this look on a pretty regular basis, and now that I’ve noticed the “uniform”, I see girls wearing it pretty much non-stop!

Do you have a “go-to” outfit?  Does this one sound like your look as well?  What “uniform” do you notice in your neck of the woods?  I’d love to know!

San Diego!

Sorry for the super late post today! We spent thirteen hours in the car and have just gotten home from our whirlwind San Diego trip…

We had a total blast… here are a few photos from our weekend:

We’re already aching to go back— there are so many things left to do!

I’m running a little behind on posts (obviously), but you can expect one tomorrow evening. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
