A Great Rule To Live By…

I’ve got quite the weekend ahead!  Remember when I participated in that hair show last Fall?  Well, today I’m modeling in one… yikes!  Then, I get to celebrate a very good friend’s wedding on Saturday (and do her hair & makeup!)

I can’t wait to show you hair show photos on Monday, but until then, I’ve got one awesome piece of advice for you to practice this weekend…

Isn’t that a great one?

P.S.- Were any of you brave enough to wake up early and watch the royal wedding this morning??

Fun In The Kitchen!

I’m in the mood to cook today, and I’ve found some fun kitchen gadgets and accessories… wanna see?

Believe it or not, I don’t own an apron!  I’d love this cute green & grey number

I’d love to hang these cute measuring spoons on our kitchen wall!

I so want a Kitchenaid mixer… oh, the things I would bake!

And how adorable is this toast-shaped cutting board?!

A garlic press & slicer in one!

Which of these kitchen items do you like best?  Got any gadgets on your kitchen wish list?  Any good recipes I should try this weekend?  Tell me in the comments!

The Beauty Of Balayage

Have you ladies heard of balayage highlights?  It’s a cool hair coloring technique that’s been around for ages, but has recently picked up a lot of steam in the U.S.

Here’s how it works: each highlight is painted on individually, rather than being woven in with foils.  They’re not placed directly on the scalp; instead they start a little lower and vary in width.  The result is a more natural, sun-kissed look that can go longer between salon visits (since it already has a bit of a grown-out effect).

Here are some examples of balayage highlights:

I’m swooning over this look, and I think I’ll highlight my hair this way before the wedding!  But I know not everyone loves the effect as much as I do…

What do you think of balayage highlights?  Do you like the look, or are you not a fan?  Have you ever tried them yourself?  Tell me what you think in the comments!

If I Had $100…

Happy Monday, sweet readers!  I hope you all had a lovely Easter!  Let’s get back into the swing of things with a fun game… what would you do if you had $100 that you had to spend on something fun?  I would…

…buy myself this Tiffany necklace!  I’ve never owned a piece from Tiffany, and it’s so simple and classic.

I have a hard time spending money on frivolous things, but sometimes it’s fun to set aside a chunk of change to spend freely!  I asked Travis what he’d do with the money, and he says he would spend it on a camping trip (fun!!)

What would you do with 100 extra bucks?  Would you enjoy an experience (like a camping trip) or buy yourself an item you’ve been eyeing (like the necklace)?  Or would you spend it on someone else?  Tell me all about it in the comments!
